The task

For the product launch of the innovative liquid crystal glasses of the brand eyrise®, the advantages of the entire product family were to be staged in the Innovation Center of Merck in Darmstadt via a room installation. The Wiesbaden-based design and architecture firm 3deluxe created the eyrise® Cubicle for this purpose. An open polygonal wooden sculpture consisting of two modules.

The Artlife solution

The 6.10m wide and 5.60m high solitaire impresses with a maximum of precision in manufacturing. Two individual modules facing each other, which together weigh more than 6 tons, are each supported by elaborate steel substructures.

Both free-standing wall panels are statically connected to each other via the base. CNC-milled, faceted multiplex elements form the cladding for the base frame. Aluminum facades with dynamic eyrise® liquid crystal glasses inserted into the wood-steel frame complete the cube. Viewed from the outside, the eyrise® Cubicle forms a complex media installation that provides multi-layered views into and through the special glasses into the center of the installation.

Inside, an atmospheric place is created that brings nature indoors and creates space for communication and secluded work. The large trees and light wood surfaces also create a pleasant contrast to the high-tech glass.
