Development and construction of a frame construction in pyramid form for ceiling lighting
The Task
At CPhI worldwide, the globally active pharmaceutical company Adalvo presented itself with an impressive booth concept. The most important trade fair in the pharmaceutical industry takes place once a year at changing locations worldwide. The stand concept for the trade fair appearance in the Main metropolis Frankfurt was created by the Icelandic design studio Skala Architects. We supplied the sophisticated structural implementation of the 315 sqm trade fair stand.
The Artlife solution
The concept was characterized by the restrained elegance of its design language and the extremely high-quality and precise execution. Central components of the holistic interior design were the solutions for optimizing the room acoustics and an elaborate lighting concept.
The interaction of textile surfaces with the damping effect of cork formed the basis for the acoustic quality of the interior. Room-forming elements such as ceilings, walls and columns were seamlessly covered with large textile graphics. The sound-absorbing effect was complemented by a cork floor and partially used cork wall panels in an asymmetrical 3D pyramid structure.
The design of the pyramid acoustic panels was also the source of inspiration for the elaborate ceiling lighting. The ceiling structure, developed by Artlife, spanned around 40 square meters of the brand space with eight lighting modules of 2 x 2 meters each. Each of the fabric-covered light fixtures consisted of its own pyramid-shaped frame construction.
