Artlife certified according to DIN ISO 14001

After a 15-month preparation period, Artlife received the certificate for the globally recognized environmental management standard ISO 14001:2015 in July as part of an external audit. The Hofheim-based trade fair and set construction company has thus reached an important milestone that it had set itself for the year of the company’s 30th anniversary.

The certificate certifies that Artlife focuses on sustainability, environmentally friendly action and the responsible use of existing resources in its corporate policy. “With the ISO 14001 certification, we are also credibly demonstrating our commitment to the long-term development of our environmental performance to our customers and employees,” says Stephan Haida.

Above all, the managing director of Artlife wants to ensure the long-term competitiveness of the set construction company with the certification: “More and more exhibiting companies are demanding proof of certified sustainability management as a prerequisite for participation in a tender. This gives certification an additional high degree of relevance. For us, it is the next important step towards a future-proof and competitive orientation.”

In order to achieve the environmental goals it has set itself, Artlife has developed a sustainability and environmental strategy specially tailored to the company.

All of the company’s processes were first put to the test, evaluated and analyzed. Starting with material procurement, production processes and internal communication. Environmental aspects such as the total amount of energy and waste, including hazardous substances, were also identified and recorded. Already during the certification process, the number of hazardous substances could be reduced by a third.

“The environmental management system enables us to incorporate environmentally relevant aspects into our business decisions in a forward-looking and systematic manner. The aim is to ensure continuous improvement of environmental performance through optimized and consistently coordinated business processes,” says Haida.

Accordingly, the certification does not mean the end of Artlife’s efforts. The performance of the management system is reviewed annually by further audits.

In addition, the set construction experts are already striving for certification in accordance with DIN ISO 9001.

ISO 14001 is the international standard for the implementation of an operational environmental management system. It supports companies in establishing a continuous improvement process with regard to environmentally friendly action.
